Fabulous Friday Finds

Being the appalling blogger that I am I thought I'd try and start (again) a regular feature on fabulous things I've seen this week. So here we go. This week it's all about paper. And there are some lovely papery goodies out there!

which one do you like?

it's raining

It's raining. Again. And Peter Carey has been listed for the Man Booker Prize. Again. And politicians are talking double-speak. Again. And I'm procrastinating about ... well almost everything. Again.

Loving the sound of Mr 3 singing in his newly constructed, newly painted room. So I will blame his cuteness for my distractedness.

Actually I love the rain.

lovely market but now I'm cactus!

Some photos from Finders Keepers Winterland. It was fun and such a lovely space to have a market. I was lucky enough to be next to Holly and Jeremy from Born Again Books. And I had a lovely chat to the sublime stage and film actress Kris McQuade who I saw in Cloudstreet many many years ago. Thanks if you stopped by for a chat and thanks if you bought something! As for me - after three nights (including all day Saturday) trading - I am cactus.

it's today

Finders Keepers starts today - well tonight actually. I'm all nervy and skittish about it and I've just managed to escape Mr 3's elaborate pirate game (I play the dog!) to sneak in here and check my to do list.

If you're coming along to Winterland do pop in and say hello. I'm in stall 18.

home!

Whenever I'm away on holidays I always imagine that I've left behind a tidy house - vacuumed, dusted, clothes put away. But of course it's rarely the case. And so coming home always involves putting away the washing that was left to dry on racks inside when we sped off, washing the mountains of clothes we brought home and of course the housework that I didn't do before we left. And because I've just cleaned and spruced up the house we holidayed in I feel like having a clean house too thank you very much. But then I looked at the piles of felted shapes that need sewing together and the brooches that need backs and all the myriad stuff I need to get done by Thursday .... well some things come first!

off on holidays!

We've packed lots of jumpers and thick socks and wetsuits as we take off on holidays today. My allocated space is full of felted jumpers, needles, thread, scissors and buttons. It's going to be a busy week of cutting and making brooches and scarves in preparation for Finders Keepers next week. No doubt Mr 6 and Miss 9 will go swimming with Mr Neat while Mr 3 and I make sandcastles and shiver on the beach. (Scratch that idea - I think we'll stay at the house and make cakes!)

Have a great week!

post-billycart and southern highlands

Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat on Saturday at the Billycart market. It was a lovely day and I was amazed by the gorgeous products available. I was lucky enough to be next to the gorgeous and fun Kristie from Coco's Closet. She has a hip shop in Forster which I hope to visit in summer! But do check out her groovy things on madeit. I stupidly forgot my camera so sadly no pics. :(

Straight from markets on Saturday to preaching at church twice on Sunday (well it had to be twice didn't it). God is good! And from there down to the Southern Highlands with Mr Neat.

Mr Neat and me (aka little Miss Messy) had a fab (and cold!) time riffling through bookshops, Op Shops, antique shops and patisseries. I think pastry should have its own food group. Why oh why is the best stuff to eat heart stopping and waist expanding?!

Finders Keepers is coming up fast so nose to the grindstone for me.

I'll try and get organised and post some photos soon... promise.
